This insect was an unexpected morning visitor. The family were busy in the kitchen when this Weta was seen walking across the floor.
A few quick photos were taken before placing it safely back in the garden.


This afternoon we returned to Zealandia - when purchasing an entry ticket it is valid for two consecutive days and as we were passing that way to collect our granddaughter from her ballet class we decided to pay another visit to the sanctuary. 
To our delight the Tuatara walk was open and we got to see six of these reptiles in their natural habitat. There were possibly more, but they are motionless and often difficult to spot.
The Kaka, featured in yesterday’s blip which was uploaded this morning, were entertaining and in plentiful numbers around the bird feeding stations. 


Sorry I am getting behind on blip, but I really have appreciated all your visits, comments, stars and hearts over these past few days.
