Hand-Turkeys
Today, before we settled into our knitting, we made hand-turkeys. Even though they tended to look like cormorants dressed in turkey costumes, we had fun, and now they're displayed on our refrigerators.
Later in the day, we texted about how this time of year reminds us of all the loved ones we've lost. In fact, today was Howard's birthday, Di's husband who died in 2018, the same year I lost my sister, the same time of year Barb lost her mother and tomorrow is the birthday of Eric's brother who died in 2019. Barb, who is practicing her harp for a gig in a week or so, said she was going to play In the Bleak MidWinter for us all. I told Eric what she was doing, so he grabbed his trombone and played it, too. A sad, poignant, fun day.
