Foxton Locks

Thursday 24th November 2022

My birthday!

Mum and I went down to Foxton Locks and Market Harborough and revisit old haunts, as Mum had been brought up around there. We enjoyed a walk in the sun up to the top of the locks, after having a coffee and mince pie supporting the Macmillan Coffee Morning. . On the way back down we crossed the canal and I went to help mum down the steps, putting her stroller down first. Unfortunately it then decided to stroll away on its own, gathering momentum down the hill! It even had enough momentum to cross the grass but thankfully stopped before the ditch!

On then to Market Harborough to revisit old homes. We parked in the centre and walked to the school on stilts, which doesn't look right in its "new" colours, it used to be black and white.

We'd had an enjoyable day until we got back to the car to find a fixed penalty notice claiming we had parked in a disabled bay without properly displaying a badge ... it was placed next to the disabled badge that was on view through the windscreen! I was not happy and have appealed.

We're looking forward to goin gout for a meal with friends tonight.
