Thanksgiving

First of all, I learned from blip ( blipper Heanku). yesterday that there are 2 varieties of the “Christmas “Cactus…one IS a November cactus…and when I looked it up there is a 3rd that blooms at Easter!  all with a bit different leaves.  

And today we were very grateful to have family here for dinner.    Originally I thought perhaps we’d have all 10  together for the first time in years!   Then Nik’s basketball coach said it was mandatory he be in Portland for team dinner (what???) and d-i-l Anne has been visiting her ill mom in a rehab facility which is now locked down for covid, so in spite of having been dressed in a hazmat suit to see her,  she didn’t want to take a chance of exposing anyone else.    Well, her Mom unfortunately passed away this morning, not unexpected, and she needed to be with her Dad tonight (who also caught covid from the mom, but is OK)   Nik was able to to come home in time ( and be back there by 9:30 in the morning!) so we had the 9 and I managed to figure out the flash on my camera so will put the shot up anyway (there's not much room to take a group)  ….we really missed Anne, but loved having the kids together. Lots of good conversations...  More in the extra.    They brought mountains of food (and they ate mountains of food) and we’ve got leftover pie for breakfast!
