I like how the weather in Glasgow is so much less extreme than it is in Argyll. Right on cue as I crossed the border from West Dumbartonshire into Argyll and Bute the torrential rain started and when I stopped at the summit of the Rest and Be Thankful it was difficult to open the car door to get today’s blip.
I was on my way to Inveraray for a catch up lunch at The George with friends from Campbeltown. The food is always exceptional, and the young staff are charming and take time to chat despite being rushed of their feet. Our server was about to swap Inveraray for Barcelona once her visa is sorted, we exchanged a few words in Spanish.
We ran out of time far too quickly and made plans to catch up again in January with a trip to Argaty Red Kites.
