Level 4 puréed meals

I'm belatedly starting to back-blip the last week of photos from J's and my hospital stay. The speech therapist was trying to ensure J could transition carefully and safely away from the feed tube and back to eating, which was an essential passport to returning home; J was adamant she did not want a PEG feed, always having eaten with pleasure despite occasional difficulties. This is a level 4 puréed meal. I was intrigued to find that the puréed vegetables were moulded to resemble their original shapes. There were four or five vegetarian options on the level 4 puréed menu, so with two hot meals a day to order we imagined J could rotate them over two or three days. Unfortunately by day 2 only two options were actually available, and by day 4 there was only macaroni cheese and a "snack meal" of puréed baked beans on toast, which proved distinctly unappetising. J understandably became very sick of macaroni cheese gloop and was cross enough to have us plough through a very long online questionnaire about every aspect of ward cleanliness etc in order to reach the final section where she could dictate her own comment about the food.
