Boy's Brigade
When I left the house this morning for my 16 mile walk I could have 99.9% told you today's blip will be of something pretty along the Water of Leith. That was before all the stuff that was happening at the bus stop.
When I arrived at St Andrew's Square my friend texted to say she was running late so I thought I'd wander over and see what was going on in the Garden as I could see a number of little marquees. Apparently it was "Spa in the City" day and there was a queue of ladies right around the garden. I assume they were all waiting to register for some sort of free spa day.
I got bored of the people queueing so I headed back along to the bus stop. Next thing I know there's a marching band coming along the street. After they'd marched down and back up the other side I was able to see that it was the Boy's Brigade Edinburgh Battalion's trouping of the colours or some such ceremony.
Well I decided that the Water Of Leith will always be there for me to Blip but these cheery men were only for today.
It's the first time I've been along the whole length of the Water of Leith. Saw lots of ducklings, interesting architecture, gorgeous riverside houses and the odd Heron or five but no doubt they can feature another day.
Not too achey but unfortunately will need new walking shoes before the big day. Realised the arch support is totally gone in my old ones now and ended up on the verge of cramp for the last few miles with no way i could have gone another 10. Other than that only minor aches which is a great improvement. I might be ready for this by the time it gets here after all.
