Lucy is 5!

I can't believe that little thing is a five year-old.... ;-) And also a schoolgirl!

In an unfortunate turn of events, parents evening was scheduled for this evening, which means for the first time, I would miss the birthday tea party :-( I couldn't believe the bad luck!

Parents evening was very long, although there was a pizza break, and finally at 6:20pm I left school and headed to Shelle's. Luckily Ro was still there, and she had waited for me. When I arrived, Lucy was on the toilet...;-)

She opened her present, some teddy slippers, and then we took her upstairs for her 'birthday bath'! Rosie played with her with the bubbles, and I talked to Shelle as she tidied up upstairs and got everything ready for bedtime. Lucy squealed as we blew bubbles - she was supposed to be winding down but it was an exciting day for her. Her main present was the Barbie camper van which assembles itself at the touch of a button, which she took great delight in showing me, even catching Ro's finger in one part of it!

I was sad to have missed the main event, but she had a nice time I think. Ro gave her a 'birthday scrub' and brushed her teeth for her, and then we left. I missed my supervision this evening as I just can't do it all, and could not sit on Zoom for yet another two hours after parents evening.

Home, bath, snack, bed.

Lucy's party with her friends is on Saturday, and we're going to help.
