Lucy's Party
I got up early, cleaned my house, all in beautiful sunshine and quite balmy temps for November! At 1:30pm I headed to mum's, before going to meet Ro to go to Lou's party. I thought we would be late, but it didn't start until 2:15pm, and when I got to their house, Ro was in the downstairs cloakroom brushing Lucy's teeth and trying to get her ready!
Lucy had her first proper party at a leisure centre that has recently been totally renovated, and where all three of us learned to swim. It was really nice inside, and I found myself thinking about going to the gym there! We went in, and were shown to the party room, and then her little friends arrived, bearing gifts :-)
We were led upstairs to a sports hall where there were inflatables and things to play with, and they had a great hour jumping and racing about. Ro and I went downstairs for a Costa, and then three of us girls went out to the car to bring in all the party gear- food, decorations etc. It didn't take long to set it up, and then they all came and had their snack. After cake, and Happy Birthday, party bags were handed out and we quickly cleared up. We went back to Shelle's for tea and cake, and then Lucy opened all of her presents. I made a list of each one so that she could send thank you's later. A few times she was very blunt "er, I don't like this" but I figure she hasn't yet learned those particular social graces! Another good reason to open them at home :-)
After we got home, Ro invited mum, dad and I to Andy's for spaghetti and to celebrate the fact that she's been clean and sober for three whole years. We had a nice evening and then I stayed over, while M and D took the dog home.
