Fairytale Castle

Continuing my backblips from the long weekend, this is the Château de Vufflens which I walked up to from my daughter's home. It's set in the vineyards. This is the area that I used to live in when my first baby was one year old and my second, born a few years later.

I walk in this area with immense pleasure and some nostalgia. Life was good and uncomplicated. I had made lots of friends and it was one of the happiest times of my life. Most of my friends have moved away now as their children have grown and left the nest. Some friends have also sadly passed away into life beyond our materialistic world.

A sheer joy to walk through fields, see sheep grazing, take country paths and, on the way back, see the mountains of this area. On the upper right, we can see the city of Lausanne, so close to the smaller town of Morges and only 20 minutes away by car on the motorway.
