A mildish but gloomy day. I put the last gunnera to bed this morning ie hacked the stalks and leaves down and piled them on top of itself - they rot down and give the plant some protection in the winter; cleared a herb bed and did a bit of bramble sorting. Then I met Hannah for a cuppa and she kindly acted as my third Irish witness and signed the citizenship form - nearly done!  Then on the way back I remembered the Heron Gallery had an open afternoon/evening and popped in. The fire was lit the lights were twinkling and coffee with rum was on offer - and mince pies! Very pleasant and these dried flowers were available to buy in little bundles, all from Annabel's garden.
