These ducks rarely cross the Minch so it was a bit of a treat seeing this one on Skye as we toured the northern reaches of the island.
Our ferry saga continued with the ferry having engine problems and not leaving Lochmaddy at its appointed hour.
A decent cooked breakfast was had at Uig Hotel with the uncertainty of where we were going to end up in the evening hanging over us.
We dcided to head off for a potter around Skye and eventually heard at lunchtime the ferry was sailing but not until 6pm - a relief.
The NW corner of Skye was by far the most interesting bit we have seen so that was a plus. Getting home 24 hours later than anticipated was not.
