A little bit of colour on a cold grey day

I do like birch trees, especially their bark.  I wasn’t on a lovely woodland walk when I took this - I was walking down the A37 - and this is just by the small Tesco store, which is useful for essentials, but very limited. I made some chutney today for Christmas gifts - apricot and date  - I must say it is good. Also wrote a difficult letter which I’ve been putting off for weeks, so that was satisfying in a way. Chatting to a couple of friends - one a video call, one an old fashioned phone call. And enjoying listening to the cricket - day 4 of the test match in Pakistan. The first time since 2009 when terrorists attacked the Sri Lankan cricket team. The Pakistan fans are really enjoying themselves - it’s brilliant to listen - and the match is on a knife edge.
