My observations on DIY paving projects:
1 It's all in the preparation (5 bloody days of it..)
2 There are invisible energy sapping trees rooted all over the place
3 Levelling 20 square metres of level ground isn't as easy as it sounds
4 Getting 5 tons of free slabs will result in spending at least £150
5 Once you get everything level and ready and start laying the paving, heavy rain will set in for days
6 Next time I'll get a man in and spend my annual leave climbing mountains and playing with cameras...

It'll be nice when it's finished..6 slabs down and 40 to go :-)
