New Mills mill

This mill has been rescued from the fate of lots of these beautiful old buildings, being left to rot and finally, demolition.
The ground floor has been converted into a wedding venue and today it hosted a craft fair. A lot of good stuff on show and for sale including Clair Allen, the lady who painted one of the pictures in our living room. She paints scenes from the local area; one on  display was of a long straight road, terraced houses either side and a large mill at the end of the road. This mill is now the Swizzels factory where they make Love Hearts and Parma Violet sweets. 
Just like the picture mentioned in yesterdays blip, Man Asleep on Wall, we did not buy this one either
