How Low Can You Go?

A cold morning. Every now and then during the winter the clouds will be low across the mountains. Today was such a day. I think it’s really lovely. Now in the afternoon, the sun keeps popping in and out but it remains chilly because of the wind.

It feels like I’m constantly a day behind posting blips. At least it’s an improvement from being several days behind. It was kind of a nothingburger of a day. Anyone know where the term nothingburger came from? I’m thinking maybe Seinfeld. The episode I remember most from that show was the Soup Nazi (“No soup for you!”)
EDIT: I’m so disappointed. After further investigation, the term nothingburger was made popular by a Hollywood gossip columnist in the early 1950s.

So glad Warnock won the Senate seat in Georgia. What’s concerning to me is how many votes the incoherent Hershel Walker received.

Today I learned that there are certain medications that can increase the risk of developing dementia. They include anticholingeric drugs and things like Benadryl and benzodiazepines. Research continues on other drugs, including statins. Having dealt with Alzheimer’s I’m finding myself looking more into the research. It seems to be focused on prevention more than a cure, which at this point makes sense to me.

In other news…the local newspaper did an article on the burgeoning grasshopper population in the area. I’m so relieved. I thought I was going cuckoo. Will try to catch one of the buggers so I can share the information.
