Scotland!
Well, the picture is actually Crewe but forgive me that.
My alarm was set for 5am this morning and so of course, my body clock woke me at 4.15am. I rarely set an alarm but whatever time I set one, I can be sure to wake before it.
Felt smug about sticking a blanket on my windscreen which meant less faffing about outside and waking the neighbours. Saw a man in Shrewsbury at 6.30 in shorts. Trains all relatively smooth and I managed to meet up with one of my team in Preston which was good because that’s when the inevitable delays started. No complaints though, when the trains eventually take you through the frosty Lake District with snow on the hills.
Eventually made it just in time for the MM whole team meeting which was brilliant but overwhelming but reassuring and confirming! So many people to meet and names to learn and personalities to get to know.
Then back to the hotel for a quick change before out for the Christmas meal, which is frankly an odd concept four days into a job. It was lovely but I started to flag and the shutters came down so it was time to find the other flaggers and head back to the hotel.
