Tomte and Winter Blanket
My Winter crocheted blanket is finished! It looks warm and colourful on the back of my grey sofa. It took exactly one month to make from November 5th to December 5th. I put in at least two hours of crochet every day, sometimes more, so it was very intense.
The new granny squares will become a matching cushion.
The little Tomte was given to me by my daughter for looking after her pussycats, and staying at her place, when she was away. I love his white beard and pointed silver hat. I may have to crochet him some red socks for this very cold weather!
Tomte are Scandinavian gnomes. The name 'tomte' means 'homestead man'. I found this very interesting article on them in case you're interested:
