Upton-upon-Severn

Upton-upon-Severn is about eight miles from Malvern, the home of Lorna Lloyd when she wrote her Diary of the war (previously blipped in full in the LornaL journal, and now available as a podcast series). 

Lorna mentions Upton once in her diary. This is in her entry for 19th and 20th November 1940, with reference to a bomb that dropped on the town. You can hear this entry voice-acted in Episode 7 of our podcast series, with Lorna's great-great niece actress Bethany Ray playing her great aunt.

jelleybaby sent this photograph for our blipper-sourced album of photographs of places related to Lorna's war diary. It looks an interesting wee town from the details on the information board. Thank you jelleybaby for this contribution!
