Sweet Gorgeousness
Close to a honeycomb, as demonstrated by a beekeeper (Extra) in our village's little craft fair today. I took a photo of him and his wife in May 2021, shortly after we moved here, doing things at their hive when we were exploring the local area.
In this shot the beekeeper was explaining how some bees recognise when a parasite is resident in the comb and will uncap a cell to disrupt the intruder's development, before recapping the cell to allow the bee's larva inside to grow without hindrance.
