Ghost ‘grass

The feathery almost furry frost on the old asparagus fronds was so beautiful and ethereal on the morning walk for the papers.  Eldritch atmosphere.

We went out mid morning to pick up a Xmas tree that I’ll decorate next weekend.  Stopped too at the deer farm to grab up a present to take to friends tomorrow night but also bought nice lunch soups and pate.  Had lunch by candlelight as it was so dark all down and then I went to my home office to do some wrapping and BAFTA film watching.  Also director samples

All the while sharp snow and freezing rain fell - it never really turned into soft flakes just gritty powder that hit the windows and the frozen ground in gravelly pellets.

Back into the house for tea and the fire.  We watched more of The Triangle of Sadness until I broke away to cook dinner and call B/C.

It never got above freezing all day and the sun never came out of the mist  except to hover in ghostly luminosity through thin cloud.
