Approaching London

A slow start as I chose a later train in order to pack and plan for the next couple of days. Even so that was cancelled and I was left standing on the platform in the bitter cold for a while.  But a train came!  And the train made it to London. And my lunching companion made it in from Belfast dodging one cancelled flight.  We both felt very lucky as various other expected friends and colleagues didn’t get over.  We had lunch at Noble Rot and walked back to Soho.  Christmas has started.

I took this from the train, as we got closer to London the snow piled up and there were many pretty scenes.  London itself was of course slushier in the centre and wet clumps of snow dropped off the roofs, narrowly missing a laughing pedestrian.

I mopped up stuff in the office on my own as Monday isn’t normally an office day and I’m only up because of the rail strike over the next few days.  And in the early evening lugged my big suitcase, which I brought with me in order to load up on various packages and parcels for transporting home, over to J and T for a lovely supper and a peaceful evening with them.
