The wedding. Day 1

First of all, thank you for your comments and hearts - and apologies for my lack of replies.  Things are hotting up now and we are running round like flies in blue pants.

Late last night, Anniemay, Chris and I sat in the hotel bar still trying to work out what we are supposed to do today.  Phones ping constantly.  I realise that people no longer talk to each other — we just communicate by message apps.

The three-day programme for the wedding finally arrives;

Day 1
11.00am wedding brunch.  Dress code, Indian or smart casual.

Ladies go off for a bit of henna painting, men stand around talking men stuff.

3.00 pm. Nap time for oldies.  Camera batteries and hearing aids re-charged.

7.00pm.  Supper and live music and dancing.  Dress code, Indian or smart casual.

That’s the plan.

There’s a bit more to the morning part than we realised.  The highlight was Dan and Varnika slopping turmeric paste over each other.  See extra.

It’s very humid and most of the oldies - including us - are now having a rest before the evening session.
