Wednesday: Log Burner

Very cold again but someone has bought me a fancy new thermal base layer which I wore all day, perfect …
Quick gardening job: pruned one of the cotoneasters which is growing over the wall and had branches across the pavement, 10 minute job then indoors for lunch.
Goldfinch were feeding on the Lemon Balm this morning. I know lemon balm makes lots of seed because the pollinators just love the tiny white flowers and there are always new plants popping up everywhere in the garden and the bonus now is seeing the birds feed on them :-)
Late this afternoon the sparrows were feeding on the seeds of the lemon balm and the evening primrose too.
Decided to light the log burner late afternoon.
We watched France - Morocco semi-final game and it reminded me of my student days in the late 60s when my friends and I went to support all the Crewe Alex home games.
