2022 Wednesday — His Birthday
The hours of Mr. Fun’s birthday have melted away.
We’ve enjoyed a lovely day together that started with doing our daily reading thru God’s Word. Lunch was at Blue Sky Bistro next to the water of the back bay.
Late afternoon we had a meeting with Dave who owns Home Star Construction in Arroyo Grande. His company builds patio covers and rooms.
Then as evening arrived Mr. Fun said, “Let’s stay home for dinner and get a pizza because it’s cold outside and it’s warm in here.” He headed into downtown Cayucos to Martin’s to get his phoned-in order. Once inside the waitress told him their Internet was down and all payments tonight must be cash only. He had no cash, just a credit card.
From a booth further in the restaurant, but what seemed like out of no where, a stranger said, “Hey, I’ll pay your tab.” He said, “Nah, nah, nah.” She insisted. He was stunned.
He arrived back at the house completely surprised by the generosity of a stranger. This has been a good, good birthday for Mr. Fun.
He was 19 when I married him. That seems like another lifetime ago. Today he’s blowing-out 77 candles.
Good night from
California’s Central Coast,
Rosie (& Mr. Fun), aka Carol
and Chloe & Mitzi too!
