The accidental finding

No, not an Athena poster from the 80s

While we discussed endlessly at work what would constitute a 'team building event', I organised an unofficial one and got tickets, paid for by ourselves, for immediate colleagues and I to go to the 'Forbidden Nights' show at the Subscription rooms.

A. and I had a curry after work at a Wetherspoon's and I heard a grandmother at the next table tell her teen grandson that his mother had lost all her wages and 450 pounds more to an Internet scammer in China. Grandmother had 'topped up her bank account to Zero, but no more, mind'. You've been warned.

Then we went on the Subs rooms, where we met L and got our seats. Unfortunately, P who is one of the youngsters at 41, had decided not to come because it's still icy outside and driving conditions are not great. She's not feeling very well. This brought the average age of our party up to 57, which I've decided is TOO OLD for a show of this nature. On the other hand, I did have a good laugh.

For those of you in the UK and of a certain age, say 57, the dance performances were a bit like the Legs & Co routines on Top of the Pops, that were put in for the dads in the presumed family TV audiences. There was a lot more teasing and cultural references/songs that I didn't I understand, but which my younger colleague did.

Anyway, what the heck, I brought the team together, and we had a laugh, and, having been dropped on the corner afterwards, I managed to walk up the street afterwards over snow and black ice without sliding back down again.
