The Great Wave

Sarah was deep in study today so we took the boys to Dunbar pool. Just before they came out I wandered down to the harbour and found a gap in a railing that lead down to a little stony bay. There is a fantastic great aperture in the cliff face through which you can frame the Bass Rock beyond, and into which the sea comes roiling in. The waves build in strength and then fall back, then build in strength again. I positioned myself within the aperture to get the best view of the breakers. The water, the waves and the pull of the moon that drives them are forces to be reckoned with. You wouldn't stand a chance here if you were to slip in (which is why, I guess, this part of the shore is railing'd off) and in due course the rock there in the foreground will succumb.
