Painswick in the snow

I had a lunch date with D in Cheltenham. Left home at 10 to catch the 10.45 bus. Made it down through town and the various closing-down shops/charity shops/markets to the bus station. The bus arrived, but the driver announced that the ongoing service was cancelled. This situation is common these days. There are not enough drivers available at any one time.

So I went through to Gloucester on the scenic country bus route, changed there for the express route to Cheltenham, and got to the restaurant only half an hour late. We had three deliciouscourses at our favourite Italian restaurant, then D went home by taxi, and I walked to a street full of charity shops, where I discovered I didn't want to buy anything. Makes a change!

Caught two buses home. The snow/ice is still crunchy in our area. Can't wait for the thaw.

Best thing of all: CleanSteve had hoovered and cleaned the sitting room. Christmas tree goes up tomorrow.
