Saturday souvenirs

I drove up to Asheville, North Carolina today to spend the day with one of my granddaughters. At Thanksgiving I asked Levi Hope what she would like or needed that I could get her for Christmas. She said she really needed new glasses. We found an optometrist office open on Saturday so her appointment was today.

We found two frames that we liked while we waited for her eye exam. After the exam we found out there was a buy one frame get one free. So yes, we got both plus had one pair made with transition lenses so she would have sunglasses. The total cost was way less that what I had budgeted so she was really happy with this.

We had a great Italian lunch and then headed to the mall…yes, it was way too peoply but we braved the crowds. I saw the little button in a store where I bought a present. I sort of splurged on more for her as she never asks for anything unless I ask her and make her tell me. So she got boots and other things that were all on sale as much as 65% off. Her flowered boots we both loved were reduced from $80 to $29!!!! I managed to finish up my shopping while we were there. Thankful for that!


As I left Asheville there were sun dogs ( rainbows) in the clouds which means the weather will change in three or four days per the old wives tale. Yep, calling for snow in Asheville on Thursday! And maybe a few flurries here

Continuing home I could see the sky to the west was doing some major color painting so I pulled off at an exit and was able to get the bottom photo!

A perfect end to a good day.
