In amongst the twigs

Safely back from our trip. Rain tried hard to interfere with the day, but the sun burned away the clouds, and the afternoon was bright blue skies with hot sunshine.

I dealt to the gutters; one and a half barrowloads of leaves and other debris. Then I had a jog, at probably the hottest time of the day, and hotter than any day since much earlier in the year.

My photo is of a pair of Keruru on leaveless branches of a tree. In a way I'm glad that I wasn't able to get an unobstructed view. It seems probable that the Kereru chose such a place to rest a while.
