As an antidote to all the soppy Xmas Santas everywhere, here's my carving of the first Zen Buddhist monk sporting his festive look. He also wears my spare sunglasses as his bulbous eyes are too frightening (the original monk is reputed to have cut off his eyelids to prevent falling asleep during meditation), and the swim goggles have been there since Summer just because it's handy. He was by all accounts a hardcore dude.
