Reconnecting in Rio

A day of reconnecting with the barrio here. Real Choppe, Adega Perola, a feijoada lunch at 'the triangle place', bumped into one of the waiters from the chicken place, chatted with the head porter in our building and his two wee girls, chatted to the owner in the local place on Santa Clara. Our favourite newspaper kiosk has moved on (but we're assured he was ok and another kiosk owner thought he'd perhaps gone home to Lybia) ) and the big buy-most-things shop just round the corner has become a supermarket.  We didn't even make it down to the front of Copacabana, saving it for when we're fresher as we still feel a bit jet-lagged. Nice to be back. Happy that it's not bright sunshine and so it's an easier adjustment and settling in.  Here's Bb enjoying a caipiroska before our feijoada lunch. The smell of the feijoada was just delicious and the taste was even better!
