Not just another bullfinch in the snow
I couldn't resist watching the birds again coping with the lying snow. This male bullfinch was one of several birds that were alighting on branches of trees and looking for buds to munch on. They are renowned for their destructive effects on orchards where they can ravage the spring buds. But I didn't realise that despite the sunflower seed food I was offering they would also still like to have this fresh plant vegetation as food now.
