Dirty Legs

When I looked at this image on screen I was struck by how dirty the grey mare's legs are, the result of the thaw and resulting mud. It got me thinking about a story that MrQ tells. 

When he was a teenager he was sweet on a girl who passed his parents' shop in London on her way back from playing hockey. His mother dubbed her Joanie Dirty Legs. MrQ invited Joanie to a party and she turned up with her man-mountain boyfriend. :)
