A Tiny Christmas Robin

Our son, who is now in his forties, made this little robin at playgroup when he was four years old. It is made from a wooden clothes peg and once had tiny feathers on his tail. This year our grandsons helped to decorate the tree and I told them that their Daddy had made it. I don't know how impressed they were! There is a knack to clipping his beak to the tree without making it look as if he has had a bad accident.

The extras are the card we received in the post from our daughter. She spend a lot of time over a couple of weeks with our youngest grandson making these cards together. He did the shiny paint, stuck on the stars and chose the pirate stickers for the envelope. I like the Wallace and Gromit stamp too. Apparently his favourite thing was licking the envelopes. He was so enthusiastic sellotape was needed. It really is a beautiful card which I shall add to my box of treasures after Christmas.
