Bridge over the Stratford Canal

This is a 'cross-over' bridge on the Stratford Canal where the tow-path changes from one side to the other. In the days of horse drawn barges the horse would be lead over the bridge. If you look closely you will see there is a gap in the bridge where the tow-rope could be passed through to allow the barge to continue on its way. You can see more photos from Kingswood Junction HERE.
You may remember that I photographed a family of swans the other day and one of the cygnets had become stuck in some wire fencing - well, I emailed the Canal and Rivers Trust (Formally British Waterways) and they have acted on my complaint - you can see what they have put in place HERE. A big improvement, but there is still some fencing left.
