Sir Thomas Lucy II and his wife Constance

A church has stood in Charlecote since the 12th century and it is the church in which many of the Lucy family from Charlecote Park are buried. Most of the present church dates from the 19th century and was paid for by Mrs Mary Elizabeth Lucy. The church has lots of fine stained glass windows and carvings, but it is particularly well known for it's Tudor tomb effigies. This is the tomb of Sir Thomas Lucy II. He died in 1605 and when his second wife Constance died in 1637 her effigy was added wearing mourning attire. The tomb also shows fourteen of their children, eight daughters and six sons all dressed in Tudor clothing. If you would like to see more pictures of the church, you can find them HERE.
