Road trip

The winter solstice......

We had need to go north of the city today and while we were about it we visited Loch Lomondside at Balmaha.

Had a walk around (in the rain) and took some pictures as you do.  One shows Inch Calleach (Islet of the Old Woman), one of the islands on the loch, and one we have visited a few times as there is a wee ferry from Balmaha. 

 I took a shot of Tom Weir's statue, he was small in stature but very large in character.

Although it is a deal warmer than last week there are 
 still icy patches, and Bob noticed a large chunk of  ice on a post, with plant life inside, rather pretty it was, and I think had been deliberately put there by someone.

We had a lovely day, and the sun was setting as we left the lochside.
