Mother's Day
A picture of my mama in celebration of Mother's Day!
Mum and I decided to do brunch this morning; last year we beat the crowds and went early, so despite being exhausted from last night we did the same this morning. The cafe we chose, St Ali North, was pretty busy even before 10:00 but being in a pair meant we got a spot straight away so we planned well! It was a really nice place and I'd love to go back and try like half the menu - I had the porridge this morning and it was yummy.
After brunch we hit Brunswick Street for a mooch, managing to see some close family friends and Stef & her family while we were there. Seems it was a popular spot this morning! We admitted defeat early afternoon and Mum came to ours for a cup of tea and a chat before heading home. I spent the rest of the afternoon watching The Swan Princess and catching up with Elementary, and for once actually enjoyed watching the new episode of Doctor Who. Neil Gaiman can't disappoint!
I love this photo. I think Mum looks beautiful, and I love that you can really see her eyes - one blue and one green! We had a lovely Mama&Ruth day and, as always, I was reminded how lucky I am to have such a wonderful woman in my life. I'll try not to get too soppy, but suffice to say I love my mum a lot and it was great to spend the morning with her.
