Not A Frog In Sight....
Today our builders had two tasks to complete. As with every stage of our home improvement plan, it was never going to be that simple
The collage shows the first job in progress. Replacement door and window in the kitchen extension. It appears on removing the original window that the, erm 'supporting brickwork' wasn't doing a lot. The bricks came off by hand, no violence required. The wrong bricks had been utilised in the construction of this 'extension'. No frogs! A Frog is an indentation in the brick that when cemented improves the bonding efficacy of a wall. This wall wobbles. No frogs, no brick ties. The whole thing wobbles. So the job goes on, once the new door and window are installed the brickwork will be peeled off and rebuilt properly.
And the roof on the kitchen has now been completed. Result!
I think this house was built by a Mr Robinson. First name Heath....
