Funfairs
After the Lancaster branch of the family had left to travel south, I joined my brother and his family in the city centre. They had walked in, visited the Castle esplanade and had started on the Christmas market by the time I caught up with them.
We walked around the centre taking in the stalls, the entertainment, the ice rink and all that is on offer (at a price) for tourists.
This merry go round at the west end of George Street was particularly colourful. We were a bit early to see all the lights in darkness as the family were flying back to Heathrow this evening to head home. We walked the couple of miles back to our home via Princes Street Gardens (to see the now thawed Ross Fountain), the Vennel (see extra) and the Meadows where a new set of statues has appeared. A good subject for a future blip.
The house seems especially quiet tonight!
