Unfortunately I won’t be singing this song tomorrow with warmer temps and rain coming our way • The 4th song on our Top 25 Countdown is “It’s Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas” by professional songwriter Meredith Wilson, 1951. It was originally titled “It’s Beginning To Look Like Christmas” • Many believe the song was written while Wilson was staying in Yarmouth, Nova Scotia, at The Grand Hotel. Across the street was Frost Park, with a five and ten store nearby. But it’s never been proven • Others believe the song was inspired by the historic Park Inn Hotel in his hometown Mason City, Iowa • Many have recorded the song but Perry Como and The Fontaine sisters’ 1951 version is one of the most popular. It was included in the Polar Express film in 2004 • The 1992 Home Alone 2 movie includes Johnny Mathis’s 1968 version • Meredith Wilson also wrote the Broadway play “The Music Man” which included the popular 76 Trombones • Here’s a shot of our favorite pub lightly decorated in Hallowell • Peace & Love
