RHUBARB, RHUBARB, RHUBARD

First of the year from the garden.

I went out this morning just to pick up a few fallen twigs from the lawn and ended up hoeing and weeding the whole garden. First time for that this year too. But I now have room for the lettuce, rocket, radish, basil and nasturtiums which arrived through the post in seed tapes. I also bought a wildflower meadow 'carpet' which I put down in the orchard, well, between the three fruit trees in the corner, one is allowed to have aspirations! It was certainly easy 'planting' the carpet, just spread it out and cover it with a thin layer of soil, and now it's raining so grow flowers, grow.

Right, off to make the crumble for the rhubarb ..... and custard.
