Middle Temple Hall 21/12/22
The Hall is very light inside due to the high windows along both side and at the ends. the stained glass windows show coats of arms and on the wooden panelling on the lower half of the walls are hundreds of carved and painted coats of arms representing the members of the Temple.
In the Hall, (but out of sight today due to the raised seating for the theatre performance) is the 29-foot-long High Table made from a single oak tree, reputedly donated by Queen Elizabeth I.
The building also contains other rooms used for parliament chambers - smaller but no less magnificent; and the corridors linking them are panelled as the Hall but with portraits above the panelling, not windows.
