Decorating gingerbreads

Today we looked after our grandchildren so that their parents could do prep for Christmas/ have a bit of a rest! The original plan was to go to a NT garden and do the Christmas trail , then have lunch out somewhere, but there was so much rain this morning we decided not to do that. We did go for a dog walk and to the local playground …they were the only children there so had it to themselves in between showers. They also enjoyed using their umbrellas; but waterproof trousers, socks and wellies were soaked when we got home because of lots of fun jumping in big puddles! Also a very wet dog.

I had bought the gingerbread decorating kit a while ago so it was a good activity to do today along with some puzzle books which are part of a subscription from the Junior RSPB. They needed help with squeezing the icing from the tubes as you had to press really hard to get it out. 

We also had a bit of quiet time watching the ‘Snowman and Snowdog ‘ on TV whIch I had recorded last week.
