Dead dahlias

I thoroughly inspected the dahlia tubers I'd been storing soil-less in the shed and they've all been had by last week's frosts.

About £40 worth of plants acquired over the years, some less than 1 year old, all dripping wet (and now on the compost heap)... I'm devastated!

I'll just have to start again or ask around to see if anyone on the allotment has been more cautious and managed to overwinter dahlia tubers safely.
