Winter solstice bonfire
One of the highlights of the allotment year is my friend Pete's solstice bonfire.
Mulled wine, homemade mince pies, roasted chestnuts and, above all, being in nature and in good company to celebrate seeing off the shortest day of the year.
The growing season is still a long way off but at least we know light levels will only get better now so can start thinking about what seeds to start off next month.
For me, it'll be my usual onion seeds and lots of flower seeds!
