Happy Christmas to all!
Here is Jo one of our site Pastors at our church this morning. She was Angel Gabriel!
It was an all age service and so much fun.
A kind of do-it-yourself Nativity where we all took part.
A third of the congregation were nominated as shepherds, the middle section angels and the other third wise men.
The story was narrated, different people each reading their piece.
We had Chinese, Ukrainian, and Iranian taking part.
As the narrative unfolded, whenever the word shepherd was mentioned our third had to all stand up and say Let’s go and see, miming peering into the distance!
The middle section angels had to stand up when mentioned and sing Hallelujah to the clip from the Messiah, which some tech guy had managed to record and play just two Hallelujah’s for them to join in! That was great fun to watch and everyone clapped each time when they’d sat down again.
The wise men had to stand when their name was read and shout Let’s follow the Star, pointing into the air.
In between all this fun narration we sang an appropriate Carol.
The children who were there all thoroughly enjoyed themselves.
After the service there were the usual teas, coffees, soft drinks and today Krispy Crème Doughnuts which someone had donated, alongside various small cakes.
It was such a joyful celebration of Christmas.
We are having our Christmas dinner around 3:30-4:00pm. I put the turkey crown in the oven when we got home.
The family will be here tomorrow afternoon.
I hope that everyone has a good Christmas Day whatever you are doing. We’ve certainly enjoyed our first half!
