Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas to all my Blip friends. I hope you’ve all been able to get together in spite of the travel nightmares, and that you can share this special day.

I had a gentle and magical (and wet) morning in Bruges.

I wanted to go back to the Begijnhof, via the Minnewater. This 13th Century complex, introduced as a secure refuge for widows of knights during the Crusades, is magnificent. Beautiful whitewashed buildings encircling a garden with tall trees - so peaceful and spiritual. 

There was a superb service in the Onze-Lieve-Vrouwekerk (the church which has the Michelangelo Madonna and Child. 

Then I went over to a lovely cafe for a hot chocolate.

And all that before our organised Christmas meal this evening.
