Nelson Monument, Calton Hill
Was invited to join the group walk organised by blipper Andrew Burns. Dressed for hillwalking in the cold .. it was 3C with a good breeze from the SW, mostly sunny. Group walking involves some standing about, inevitably.
Route was by the canal (juvenile swan and a pair of mergansers); through the Meadows (Elsa the lioness in extra); over the ridge on Arthur's Seat to Holyrood; around Calton Hill then to the Water of Leith. I peeled off at Broughton Street so was indoors before the heavy snow shower that caught the group on the way to the pub.
Good to talk to various people; though dogs that jump up without an invitation are deprecated.
